The Single Import Declaration (DUIMP) is, undoubtedly, an essential topic for those who
work with import in Brazil.
What is DUIMP?
DUIMP is the document that will gradually replace the Import Declaration (DI) and the Simplified
Import Declaration (DSI). Like these documents, the new Declaration will be responsible for registering all
customs, tax, fiscal, commercial, and administrative information. With it, the Government promises to simplify the import of goods, without, however, reducing the level of control and quality – necessary for maintaining the country’s security.
The issuance of this document will occur on the Siscomex Single Portal, and, therefore, will be integrated into all
modules implemented on the site.
In this way, all stages of import will be concentrated in a single place, facilitating information management
and bringing more agility and reliability to companies and the government.
Anticipated Improvements with DUIMP Implementation
With the purpose of digitizing and integrating all systems through the Single Portal, it will be possible to
consult the entire import history of a product.
Through the Product Catalog module, it is likely that the quality and accuracy of imported product
descriptions will significantly increase.
But these are not the only improvements. See below for some that we consider important.
Reduction in average import time
Through advance clearance, the time goods are stored until delivery will be
drastically reduced.
Faster Customs Clearance with DUIMP
By consulting an item’s import history, it will be possible to simplify customs
controls, because once the goods have been admitted in the past, it would be inconsistent to subject them to high levels of control every time.
Furthermore, it will be possible to provide information and documents to all approving bodies of the import
simultaneously, so that the goods can be released much faster.
Cost Reduction
By expediting customs clearance and dispatch, it will be possible to reduce costs associated with
storage and removal.
On December 14, 2022, the implementation schedule for the New Import Process was approved by the
Siscomex Management Committee. The forecast for the period between 2023 and 2026 is that the deadline for
the Portal to process 100% of imports will be December 2024. The idea is that,
progressively, over these years, the Siscomex LI/DI systems will be deactivated.
DUIMP will undoubtedly bring many benefits, and aligning this new reality with an innovative and updated team
is the best choice to make your imports even faster and more efficient. Therefore, import with
Comexlis so that your company can achieve a new level of productivity.
